DBB Live
The Dirty Blues Band live brings you back to an era of juke joints and after-hours clubs with a mix of blues from the 1920s - 1950s, interspersed with era-inspired originals.

The Dirty Blues Band are the duo of Michelle LaHaise and David Lindsay. Recreating the songs and vibes of a 1930’s After Hours club, Michelle channels the spirit of Billie Holiday, Big Mama Thornton and Janis Joplin while Dave adds rhythm, fingerstyle and slide on select acoustic guitars. Their current repertoire includes gems from Memphis Minnie, The Rhythm Shakers and the original Mojo Working from 1957. Their original music pays homage to the steeped blues traditions and sounds of times past.
"There is a rich history of blues 78rpm records which, having been restored with modern technology, provide an insight into the dawn of the blues, and these serve as an inspiration to conjure up a rootsy atmosphere of Juke Joints and Boozecans of the past, where live music was raw and expressive."
"The Dirty Blues Band was a great surprise. This band will be packing venues as people discover the sweet sound they have. For those of you who missed this at Acoustic Blend Cafe, keep an eye out for their next performance. You won't be disappointed."
Anthony Barberi, Feb. 20, 2017
Music. For Michelle, it was just “always there”. Growing up within a fairly tumultuous childhood, music became an early means of expression and escape. A go-to place where anything was possible.
Although a ukulele appeared in David's hands one Christmas at age 5 in northern Quebec, his first guitar was a Tempo parlor guitar with a metal ink cartridge for a saddle, acquired at the age of 13.
